The official website of KOEI Tecmo Games' Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13 (Sangokushi 13) strategy game announced on Friday that the game's original December 10 release date has been delayed to January 28, citing the need to "increase the quality of the game" as the reason for the delay.

The game is the 13th installment in the long-running strategy game series. KOEI Tecmo is developing the game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC, and the game celebrates the franchise's 30th anniversary. Its original December 10 release date would have coincided with the original Romance of the Three Kingdoms game's December 10, 1985 release date.

The game will get an English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean release on the PlayStation 4 in Asia.
